Huy, two minutes from the château

The historic centre of Huy is best explored on foot. The Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame, a Gothic masterpiece, with its great rose window, the “Rondia”. The Grand-Place and its “Bassinia” fountain. And, high above, the Fort of Huy, overlooking the town and the Meuse.
Between visits, the narrow streets and café terraces of the centre invite you to take your time.

The Meuse valley, on foot or by bike

The château nestles in the Meuse valley. The riverbanks are perfect for walks and bike rides, and the wooded hillsides offer lovely viewpoints.
Back at the château, the seven-hectare grounds are ideal for one last quiet stroll.

Liège, the “Cité ardente”

About thirty kilometres away, Liège deserves at least a day. Climb the steps of the Montagne de Bueren, wander through the Carré district and along the quays, and visit the La Boverie museum. Not forgetting Liège-Guillemins station, designed by Santiago Calatrava, which is worth a look in its own right.

Andenne and Hannut, close by

Following the Meuse towards Namur, Andenne, the “city of the bear”, is just a few minutes' drive away. To the north, Hannut is the gateway to Hesbaye, with its wide farmland and quiet villages.
Two good reasons to explore the area around the château, then return in the evening to a peaceful room.
